School of the Decade
We are thrilled that Brighton College has been awarded the prestigious title of School of the Decade by The Sunday Times.
In their Independent Schools Guide, widely acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the top schools in the country, The Sunday Times names the College as “one of the hottest tickets in independent education.”
The editor of the Schools Guide said that “in the course of the past 10 years, Brighton has become the leading co-educational independent school in the country. Under the excellent headship of Richard Cairns for the past 14 years, the school is progressive in outlook and the children are taught kindness and respect for one another.”
Head Master Richard Cairns commented: “I am delighted. But the real credit for this award must go to our wonderfully inspirational teachers and energetic and positive pupils.”
A-levels 2023: Most Common Grade is an A*
It has been another excellent year. A* is the most common A-level grade again, with a pre-Covid record-breaking number of 360 A* grades. In all, there were 69 pupils with at least 3 A* grades, 26 with 4 A*s, six with 5 A*s and one with 6 A*s. We are incredibly proud of our Upper Sixth and all they have achieved and wish them the very best for the future.
GCSEs 2023: College on Cloud 9 as GCSE Record Broken
Congratulations to all our Upper Fifth pupils on their GCSE results. 9 is the most common grade again this year, with 1,158 achieved, more than ever before. 45 pupils secured at least nine grade 9s, with 24 gaining an incredible 10, 11 or 12 9s. We are thrilled for all our pupils – well done!
